East Africa is currently experiencing a severe drought. Water supplies and food production are low and has placed millions at risk of starvation. Stephen O'Brien, Emergency Relief Coordinator of the United Nations called the famine 'the largest humanitarian crisis since the creation of the U.N."
The Abayudaya Jewish Community in Uganda needs your help during this challenging time. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation.
Funds will used to not only provide food for the next couple of months as crops begin to come in, they will also be used to improve agricultural practices and long-term food management, including collecting and storing water, irrigation systems, and food storage to positively impact nutritional deficits, the economy, and overall community stability going forward.
For over a decade, Be'chol Lashon has been partnering with the Abayudaya on a variety of health initiatives, benefiting the Abayudaya as well as their Christian and Muslim neighbors fostering peace and good will in the region.
